Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him, went out and asked them, “Who is it you want?”
“Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied.
“I am he,” Jesus said. (And Judas the traitor was standing there with them.) When Jesus said, “I am he,” they drew back and fell to the ground.John 18:4-6
Church,

Reading this verse it is amazing to see the power that was contained just in the Name of Jesus Christ. When these men came looking for Jesus they knew that it was Him. They didn’t immediately grab Him but waited to answer the question. As soon as Jesus Christ says who He was there was so much power that it knocked them off their feet.

This is the same Jesus Christ that we carry around with us. The same power and the same presence that can knock people off their feet is at work in each of His people this day. Even after so many years the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is still knocking things over. It knocks the sin in our hearts over, it knocks our earthly ways and desires over and it can even impact someone else’s life through you.

The Name of Jesus Christ is still just as powerful today as it was then. How is the power of the name causing change in you and your surroundings today?

Amen,

Kris
