Renewing the Inner Self

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Church,
I think we all have had one of those moments where we think, “Oh boy, I am getting old”.  Maybe we wake up stiff or we realize we can’t do what we used to so easily but in that moment you realize your body doesn’t bounce back as easily as it once did.

But praise God that although our bodies are not the same, our souls have too been changed. Our hearts and our minds are being renewed day by day into the likeness of Jesus Christ.

There is not much we can do to fight time on our outer self but by His Holy Spirit we can be reconciled back to the Father and have our inner self transformed. Every day our souls are being prepared for, “an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison”.

Praise you God that you are preparing a bride for yourself, not with physical training but by transforming hearts that love and know you.
