But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance.Romans 6:17

We have all heard the saying, “The heart wants what the heart wants”. This verse describes what it looks like when God comes in and takes away our heart of stone and gives us a heart of flesh. The heart goes through a miraculous transformation.

Although we used to be bound to the ways of sin, God came in and transformed our hearts that we would be slaves to righteousness. Not slaves bound by law but slaves bound by the desire of our hearts. God has come and replaced our heart with one that desires Him, a heart that produces dedication and allegiance to the teachings of Christ.

Praise God that by the sacrifice of His Son, we are not bound to those old things anymore. We have been given a new heart, one that desires the things and ways of God.

I pray that your heart would draw you ever closer to the King of Kings.
