God’s Walls are Our Refuge

The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10
Church,
The recent construction video is amazing to see. While watching it, it really hit my heart watching the wall in the front of the property come down. It got me thinking about the walls that we put up on our lives to make us feel safe. Wether it be walls of our homes to protect us from storms or walls around our heart to protect us from pain, we build all types of walls and feel secure behind them.

But we know that in this life anything can happen. The walls of our home can fall and the walls around our heart can be breached. That is why God calls himself a fortress, a place of refuge. Our trust should not be in our homes or what our hands have built but our trust should be in the powerful hands of God. We should erect no other wall in our hearts because God is our refuge and protector.

So let us not put our trust in walls built by hands nor walls erected from pain. But may our trust be in Him and our hearts firmly rooted in the fortress of God.

Amen,

Kris
