Building in Vain

Building in Vain
Unless the LORD builds the house,
the builders labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain.Psalm 127:1

So often we look to accomplish things with the might of our own hands. We can do this in our homes, our jobs, even with our children.
But this verse makes it very clear. If it is not God working through us to accomplish something than it is in vain. For a storm could come and take everything made by human hands but the things that are built by God endure forever.

Unless we are devoting our homes to God than our work is in vain.

Unless we are raising our children on a foundation of Christ than our efforts are in vain for God is the only foundation that cannot be corrupted or destroyed.

Unless we are working for God first than we are working in vain for money will rot and wither but the goodness of God will last forever.

God must be the center piece of everything we do for everything else in this world if fleeting but the one who makes God their reward will never be disappointed.
