Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.Proverbs 3:25
The Lord says not to fear the sudden disaster that the wicked receive. It’s a sudden disaster that comes to those who don’t fear God and walk in His ways. It’s the fruit of disobedience and living for self.

But, the beauty of this entire chapter is that it gives the answer, the hope to not coming into sudden disaster but into sudden deliverance. He stays by our side when we follow Him. He keeps our foot from being snared. In reality, he quickly delivers us from any harm or trouble.

The key to having such safety and relationship with God is wisdom. The description of wisdom is one that keeps us safe and filled with life. And what is wisdom? Wisdom is Jesus himself. He’s the fufillment of everything, there’s nothing that He can’t do, nothing that He doesn’t know!

So what could hold us back? Not receiving His wisdom! It sounds simple, but many times we reject the very wisdom that God offers through His Son. Wisdom is instruction, it’s correction. All throughout the Word God says that His Word is given to instruct us on the paths of righteousness…but this instruction includes correction that exposes us into the light.

Not many want to be exposed, corrected, or convicted of sin. Not many want to hear what darkness lurks within that needs to exposed and destroyed. The result? Swift destruction because when darkness lives within us it quickly destroys!

So, what can we do? We can submit to the wisdom of God. We can invite the Spirit of Wisdom to come in and bring forth truth. The Spirit that instructs and corrects, the Spirit that brings conviction. He may use a leader, a friend, or whatever it takes to open our eyes and speak the Word that breaks the darkness. The Word that give us hope and sudden deliverance.

The result? Freedom and love. Love that conquers all. Love that protects us and keeps us from all harm!

Praise God for the wisdom of Jesus and for the offer He lays before us today.
