Luke 7:11-15
Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went along with him. As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.”
Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!” The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.

Church,
This verse is amazing because you can see how Jesus changed the situation of those around Him everywhere He went for Gods glory. To those disciples that He met on the road, from one meeting, their lives were changed forever. The same is true for this widow and her son. In her greatest moment of despair, as she is carrying her only son out of the town to be buried, Jesus walks up and overturns the situation.

The situation should sound familiar for so many of us. When we were at our worst, in our greatest moment of despair, Jesus Christ came onto the scene and overturned the tables in our lives. The path your life was on prior is overturned and you now live for Gods glory! Your burdens and hardships that you have carried for so long are overturned by Jesus Christ and we begin to walk in freedom!

Jesus Christ knew how to overturn a situation, He knew that in the face of darkness He could bring light. When we walk out into the world our attitudes should be the same as Jesus’. What in this world we live in needs to be overturned for the glory of God? Walk around knowing that you carry Jesus inside of you, you can bring light to the dark places and you can overturn situations around you to bring them from hopeless to joyous.

Amen,

Kris
