Colossians 1:17
"He is before all things, and in him all things hold together."

Hello everyone and welcome back to the One Thing Podcast. Looking to share a short scripture with you today coming from Colassians - we're going to be reading from Colassians 1 verse 17.

We’re taking off here where the apostle Paul was speaking some amazing things about the Lord Jesus Christ—how he is the Son of God who everything was made through, for, and by, and goes on and on. We take off where it says,“He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

"Jesus was before it all..."
If we meditate on that for a moment—that Jesus is before all things. You might have some troubles today. You may have some issues. Even if not that, there may be desires in your heart to grow closer to God. You feel like you’re just not there yet, or you need a breakthrough, whatever it may be—understanding that the Lord Jesus was before it all. You see, He was before our troubles. He was before the issue. He was before our very desire was birthed in us even to seek God.

If we take this mindset, if we truly believe this, that Jesus is the King, He is the ruler over all, before all things, it will change our circumstance and our situation. They may still exist, but we come to a level to where we are walking in such a closeness with Him that our lives are transformed.

"The Lord Jesus is the one who holds it all together. He is the answer."
Next, it says that “in Him all things hold together” - and you’ve got to just love it. You know, some of you may feel like you lost it and you don’t know what to do. You may feel empty and need to be filled with the Spirit of God. You may feel distant from The Lord and want to be brought close. Whatever it may be, The Lord Jesus is the one who holds it all together. He is the answer.

"...He will help you and bring you close to the Father..."
But, do you believe that today? Do you believe that he is the one who holds it all together? He is the one that can fill you. He is the one that can, even though you feel like you lost it, he will help you and bring you close to the Father, knowing that you are rooted in Him.

"He's already given His Word and His name is Jesus."
Many people believe a lot of things today. They believe they just need more money. They believe they just need a better job or a certain relationship, and the truth is none of those things—none of those things—were there at the beginning like The Lord Jesus. Not one thing. Not one of those things can hold all things together. It is only the Lord Jesus. So, you need a blessing today? Know that Jesus is the blessing. You need an answer today? Know that the Lord Jesus is the answer. Do you need a word from God? Well, He’s already given His Word and His name is Jesus.

"Will you seek Him? Will you look to Him? Will you trust in His mighty name?"
Therefore, I’m praying that our focus, our motive, our reasoning, our mindset, everything would be filled by Jesus today as you call out and you believe that He is before all things, and you believe and know in your heart that in Him all things are held together. Who is Christ to you today? Will you seek Him? Will you look to Him? Will you trust in His mighty name? He is the answer, the Son of the Almighty God that brings us to the Father.

Praise God for His Son today! May we be thanking God for His precious gift, the Lord Jesus Christ. May we step in and may we walk knowing that He is the King over all. Praise God!
