Hi everyone! It’s Tania, and welcome to the Moms for Christ podcast.

A few weeks ago while sitting on my bed, my youngest daughter Ryann, dramatically pretended to fall off my bed and die. As she was taking her very dramatic last breath she said, “Tell my story.”

“What is your story?”
This is something my kids jokingly say quite often but this time, I really began to think about those words. What is your story? Right now, my children are young but what will be their story? What will be my story? Will it be a story of one who has a heart after God's heart? Will it be a story of being God's friend? Will it be a story of serving the One I love? What will be my story?

In Micah 6:8 it says, “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

“The Lord had shown them mercy...”
God doesn't just desire that we would move in this way, He requires it. This word comes as a strong rebuke from the Lord through the prophet Micah. The people of Israel had forgotten the Lord and His desires for the way the people should walk. Micah reminds them that it doesn't matter what he may bring as a sacrifice unto the Lord if the people are not acting justly. If they have not loved mercy or walked humbly with God, then every sacrifice that the prophet would bring is in vain.

“Have I humbly walked with the Lord...?”
The people had forgotten how God had shown them mercy by bringing them out of Egypt. He also brought justice to the Israelites who were unjustly enslaved and treated harshly. He reminded them of their journey from Shittim to Gilgal, giving the Israelites the opportunity to know the righteous acts of the Lord and walk humbly with their God. The Lord had shown them mercy and fought for justice on their behalf. He gave them the opportunity to walk humbly with Him. The Lord desires that they would do the same for another.

As I look at my own life and how the Lord has had mercy on me and my family, have I had that same mercy on the people around me? Have I stood for the Lord's just causes? Have I humbly walked with the Lord, understanding how undeserving I am? I see in my own life how I have fallen short and my prayer is that because of His great mercy, we would live by the Lord's requirements.

“Thank You so much for Your mercy...”
Lord, You are Holy. You are our only hope in a world of chaos, we look to You. We ask for Your Holy Spirit, that we would fulfill all that You desire. Lord, please open our eyes to see every place that we have not. Please forgive us Lord. And Lord, You have given so much and You require so little. Lord, we love You and Lord, I pray that our lives would reflect all that You require because You have been good to us. Lord, I pray that our story would be of a people that have fulfilled each of Your requirements. Thank You Lord. Thank You so much for Your mercy that You have shown us Lord. Thank You so much for the opportunity that You have given for us to humbly walk with You and Lord, thank You so much for fighting and taking up those unjust situations in each of our lives. Lord, let us see those places, remembering how good You are and in turn, looking to You to fulfill all that You desire. Amen. God bless and have a wonderful week! I will speak to you again soon.
