Hi everyone! It's Tania and welcome to the Moms for Christ podcast. The word that the Lord has put in my heart comes from Mark, chapter 10, verses 48 to 51. And it says, “Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me!’ Jesus stopped and said, ‘Call him.’ So they called to the blind man, ‘Cheer up! On your feet! He's calling you.’ Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. ‘What do you want Me to do for you?’ Jesus asked him. The blind man said, ‘Rabbi, I want to see.’”

"When we are filled with His Spirit, our ways begin to bow..."
The other day, as I was leaving the eye doctor my son and I were having a conversation about eyesight. Some people go years without really being able to see clearly. Sometimes, they don't even know that they can't see until one day, they go to the eye doctor and after a series of tests they are given a prescription. When they put on their new glasses, they can see! Everything is so sharp and crisp - it's amazing how new everything becomes from an old technology. What I mean is the curve of the glass allows an allocated amount of light to enter your eye.

Jesus has done the same thing when He came to earth. His light gives sight to those who are spiritually blind. In the story of blind Bartimaeus, Jesus not only brought physical sight, but He also brought spiritual sight to a man who was living in darkness. In Matthew, chapter 4, verse 16 it says “the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” That light is Jesus. He has come to open our eyes that we would come to know Him. When we are filled with His Spirit, our ways begin to bow so that His way can come forth in me and you.

"Lord please forgive us for trying to stumble through this life on our own."
Bartimaeus knew he was blind. How silly would it be if after all that Bartimaeus did to get Jesus’ attention, Jesus asked, ‘What do you want?’ And he says, ‘I don’t know. Food, money, clothes, a house.’ All of those things are fine, but Bartimaeus knew that none of those things would change his situation. He knew that he had to be able to see where he was going. Unfortunately, there have been times in my life where I desired those things above my actual need - a Savior. I want to be more like Bartimaeus everyday - understanding my actual need, something that lasts. Bartimaeus threw aside what he had for something greater. I want to be one calling out to the Lord, day and night, loudly, unashamed, ‘Lord! I can't see! I need Your eyes so that everything I see is through You. Lord, I don't want to see through my own eyes because when I do, it's all about me.’

Lord, please let our children come into that cry to You, saying, ‘Lord, I need Your glasses to see. Without Your light, I will continue to wander through life without a purpose - bumping into my will, my way, my thoughts and ideas.’ Lord please, open our eyes that we may see. Open our eyes so that we can follow You. Open our eyes so that we see things the way that You see them; no longer locked in our mindset, which is darkness, but living the life You have called us to in Your wonderful light. Lord please forgive us for trying to stumble through this life on our own. I pray that we would not stop until not only our eyes are open, but the ones around us as well. God bless, and have a wonderful week. I will speak to you again soon.
