Today is the first of Cheshvan a new month in the Hebrew Calendar. Today it is believed that the Plague on the Livestock came upon Egypt.

Exodus 9:1-7 Many Jews call this month Mar Cheshvan or bitter month because of the darkness that begins to come on Egypt. However, on v4 it says But the Lord will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and that of Egypt, so that no animal belonging to the Israelites will die.

Even in the dark the children of God prosper. For the Lord their God keeps a watch over them in the night.
