Shouts of Worship and Praise

A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,
“Hosanna to the Son of David!”
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”
“Hosanna in the highest heaven!”Matthew
Church,

I read this passage and thought of how Jesus knew what was going to happen. As much as the crowd was shouting praises to Jesus, He knew that in a few days they would be calling for his death.

Yet in the midst of all of that, Jesus must have been thinking of the future. A future where the people’s hearts would be pure and a future where the praise and shouts would be real.

Jesus’ entry into that place in the midst of shouts of praise was a foreshadow of what was to come. For the church, that time is now. It is our job to welcome Jesus into our midst with shouts of joy and praise. It is our job to extol Him with the praise and recognition for who He truly is and what He has done.

I pray that Jesus Christ would always find a place of worship with us. For wherever His presence rests, may it be in the midst of shouts of worship and of praise!

Amen,

Kris
