Acts 17:29-31
“Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by human design and skill. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”

Church,

This week in youth group we asked each kid to tell us what they learned this summer about God. Each kid had unique and great answers of different aspects of Gods personality they had come to know this summer.

One child said that they learned that Jesus is coming back and they realized that it could happen at any moment. They described how it was such a sobering thought to think that at any moment Jesus could return to judge the earth.

Do we, as the church of God, have the same understanding? We should not treat God like a thing of this world that we can control or will wait on us. Jesus Christ being raised from the dead was a sign that He would one day return and judge the earth.

May His church be awaiting and prepared for the day when He returns and may we be found ready, as a holy and redeemed people.

Amen,

Kris
