Be At Peace

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭27‬ NIV)

Its very easy to see the turmoil and chaos that’s building up in the world. There are cases of Ebola beginning to spread. There are diseases affecting children that doctors can’t cure. There are rumors of war and wars that are occurring. Threats of economic collapse, terroristic attacks, and the list goes on and on. But what should be happening within the believer at such a time? PEACE!

Jesus speaks peace to us just as he did to his disciples. He gives us peace, not as the world gives. Because in reality the world is into robbing us of peace. Yet Jesus gives us the peace of God. Peace is wholeness, completeness. When we have wounded hearts or a torn soul we don’t have peace. But God through his Word speaks healing deep inside and makes us complete! We are complete because it is God who completes us!

So we must not let our hearts be troubled, what does worrying accomplish anyway?

Read the words in this scripture and meditate on the power of the peace of God. Breath in the presence of the Holy Spirit that reminds us of the truth and solidifies our stance. And thank The Lord that though a thousand may fall at our side, or even 10,000 at our right, our feet will not strike a rock!

And as the world looks in to see that we are standing at peace, we might draw others out of the chaos and into the light!
