Obedience that is Faith

Romans 1:5 Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake.

United Faith Church,

If you read into this verse in the Hebrew the words “That comes from” are interchangeable with “that is”. More accurately, this verse would say “… to the obedience THAT IS faith”.

Isn’t that exactly what we, as the church, have been called to? Not a dead Faith that is fruitless but a faith that is alive and active and producing all sorts of fruit in our lives; most importantly obedience. This was the type of faith that Paul was entrusted with to bring to all the gentile nations. We as the church must take up the same call, first in our own lives and then to the world.

Our faith is not lifeless but it produces obedience. Through “the obedience that is faith” we can see mountains move and lives transformed. We can see the awesome hand of God move in our lives as we walk in the fruit of obedience that our faith has produced.

Happy Yom Kippur! The most holy day of the year, when His people are judged and a new year begins. May we be found innocent in the blood of Jesus Christ and may our faith produce great things in this upcoming year.

Amen,

Kris
