Ezekiel 11:19-20
I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

Church,

What is the purpose of our salvation? Some may say it is so that we can be happy throughout life. Some say it is our ticket into heaven. But God, The Father, had planned for the salvation of man since the beginning of time. This book was written 500 years before Jesus was sent to the earth. We can see that God was eagerly awaiting the time where His people would be redeemed.

God planned this for so long not so that we could have an easy care-free life, nor that we could get our “ticket” into heaven. He planned it for so long so that He could have a people that He could call His own. All of creation looked forward to the coming of Jesus Christ because through His sacrifice would come a people wholly devoted to God. A people with an undivided heart and not the spirit of man but the spirit of God.

Through Jesus Christ our hearts of stone are broken and are replaced with a heart that knows God. He sent His Son so that He could have a redeemed people that follow His decrees and are careful to keep His laws.

We, people of God, are the church! We are the ones that God has planned to redeem since creation. Let our lives reflect the sacrifice of His Son. May the church of God be mighty and powerful and have an undivided heart in serving our King. May the motives of our hearts show the world that God has a people wholly devoted to Him.

Amen,

Kris
