Break the Chains

Word of the Week

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress.
He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness,
and broke away their chains.
Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
for he breaks down gates of bronze
and cuts through bars of iron.Psalm 107:13-16
United Faith Church,

So many of us can remember what it was like to be “Chained up”. We can remember being chained to the ways of the world; the worldly thinking, reasoning and desires. Those chains bound us as slaves to sin and made us subject to its ways.

However, God the Father sent His son Jesus Christ so that His people would not have to stay in chains. For those who “cry to the Lord in their trouble, he saves them from their distress”. Jesus Christ has come to bring us out of darkness, utter darkness and break away our chains.

To be a Christian means that we have received the saving power of the Lord Jesus Christ. It means that our chains should be broken. We are no longer chained to sin but free to serve the Father with our lives.

Thank you God that you sent your Son to break our chains so that we can live in freedom! Freedom to love as you loved, freedom to serve as your served and freedom to live as you lived!

Praise you God!

Kris
